Sense of Beauty, Valid or Not?

Everybody wants beauty because it makes him or her happy. But not many people ask why beauty makes us happy. Now, let us try to answer this question starting from our everyday common sense as follows:

Origin of Beauty

Anybody can come to the conclusion that the goal of human life is to propagate our offspring or to keep our DNA alive, if he or her has enough time to think it step by step to the ultimate end.  Suppose it is not the case, human being can never survive anymore. (Reference 1)

In order to reach the goal of keeping our DNA alive, we must have a director telling us constantly what we should do for every move. This director is obviously the feeling of happiness. (Reference 1, 2)

Beauty is defined as “The quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses “by Webster online Dictionary. Thus, beauty is actually a kind of happiness.

Validity of Beauty

Like all other kinds of happiness, beauty can be classified into 2 categories of valid ones and invalid ones by means of 10,000-years-ago norm, too. The valid ones are instinctively good for us; the invalid ones instinctively good but actually bad. (Reference 2)

 For examples:

1. Valid beauty

  • The real beautiful green scenery with water and flowers in nature makes us healthy;
  • The beautiful woman without makeup or cosmetic surgery will give us good offspring;
  • The beautiful singing of birds in nature means there is good environment for us to live for keeping our DNA alive.

2. Invalid beauty:

  • The beautiful scenery of a painting just wastes our money and time but does not make us healthy;
  • The beautiful woman with makeup or cosmetic surgery can not give us any good and clever offspring;
  • The artificial beautiful singing of personal performers does not show there are good environment for our life but just wastes our time and money.

Today, the problem is that there are tremendous kinds of invalid beauties for invalid happiness and invalid competition, which waste our enormous money, energy, resources, environment, and so on of the only delicate globe we have. It is actually spending the resources of our offspring of generations and generations in advance and put our offspring into a very difficult situation to live in the not far future. (Reference 2, 3)

Conclusion

Welcome valid beauty; refuse invalid beauty; save ourselves and our offspring. This can be done easily with our common sense.
